Abstract: A conceptual difference between “career” and “course of life”; the latter need no external institutional recognition. Relying on G.H. Mead’s opposition of “I” and “Me” concepts, eventual “career forms of life” — with various degrees of consistency between a social character and institutional (organizational) patterns — are put under sociological interpretation.

Abstract: A “consumerist thinking” underlying the language of the Consumerist Culture is analyzed. Visualizing mythic images of “new heroes”, the Consumerist Culture produces magic attitudes onto reality, shaping expectance of a miracle. Its quiddity is getting alive, while the dream appears personified. The core principles of the signifying systems are named: utility and efficiency of an action qua criterion of its rationality; moral relativism qua the moral law; discoursivity of the profane communication.

Abstract: Russia is now in the final negotiation phase regarding its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Discussions have been held over the past fourteen years and have contributed indisputably to the transformation of the Russian economy and the modernization of its legislature. If there are still unanswered questions at the start of 2007, the unbalanced nature of the negotiations runs the risk of Russia having to make further concessions to its partners in order to speed up the agreement’s conclusion. In the longer term, the main challenge faced by Russian authorities is to ensure that documents that are already in force are transposed.
